CATHAY PACIFIC SELECTS AEROMEDIC INNOVATIONS FOR ON-BOARD MEDICAL KIT RE-EQUIPMENT

Cathay Pacific Airways has selected Aeromedic Innovations of the UK to provide a complete fleet renewal of its on-board medical kits and says it plans to purchase 80 kits.

This breakthrough for Aeromedic Innovations into the important Asia-Pacific market with a major carrier comes after a particularly demanding specification from the Hong Kong-based airline.

The kit being provided by Aeromedic Innovations comprises a Doctor's Kit and Resuscitation Pouch which can be detached from the main kit. Safety and security are the most important commitments for any airline and Cathay Pacific has always maintained a high level of in-flight medical training and support. The new equipment is part of the airline's continued investment in its products and services.

Lawrence Harding, Managing Director of Aeromedic Innovations is delighted to have secured this endorsement from another world-quality airline. He explained: "From a technical standpoint this was an unusually demanding specification for Aeromedic. The kit and pouch had to be engineered to fit four different types of stowage areas on four different aircraft types, namely the Airbus Industries A330, A340, Boeing B747-400 and B777".

He continued: "We had to work within the dimensions of the smallest common denominator and in order to meet this requirement we had to produce two different working prototypes. We have demonstrated our total commitment in meeting the needs of a world-renowned customer and we are very pleased to have secured this business as a result."

In addition to manufacturing and supplying the kits and their contents Aeromedic will have a Long Term Agreement to supply component parts, technical expertise and know-how to Cathay Pacific's local, existing provider of medical kit servicing, refurbishment and re-certification.
