British Midland Choose Aeromedic Enhanced Medical Equipment For New A330 Operations
9 May 2001
BMI British Midland has selected Aeromedic Innovations to provide a range of enhanced on-board medical equipment for the airline's new Airbus A330-200 fleet.
Deliveries of the equipment have been completed, to meet the airline's launch of trans-Atlantic services from Manchester to Washington DC on May 12 and to Chicago in early June.
The use of the A330 on trans-Atlantic ETOPS operations means that bmi british midland has to meet more stringent regulations for the provision of on-board medical equipment than it currently has to for its European operations. However, the airline has also decided that it needs to upgrade its medical care in the air.
To meet its new ETOPS requirements, bmi british midland has acquired from Aeromedic Innovations an Enhanced Medical Kit for the first time. The content specifications are unique to the airline.
